# Resource Collection

Players need to collect and manage the following four basic resources to maintain and develop their empire:

* Wood: used for construction, repairing ships, etc.
* Food: used to sustain the empire's population and crew.
* Iron ore: used to manufacture weapons, ships, and buildings.
* Gold: used for recruiting crew members, researching technology, developing trade, etc.

Resources can be obtained primarily through the following methods:

* Constructing resource-producing buildings within the territory.
* Occupying sea resource nodes.
* Trading with other players.
* Raiding other players' cities.
